VINTAGE CHARACTERISTIS & CONDITIONS:
We will remember the 2015 season as one of the driest and earliest in years. A somewhat smaller wine grape harvest promising exceptional wines. Warm weather in August resulted in earlier bud break, after which a warm, dry, and windy summer kept vineyard growth under control and accelerated ripening. Lower temperatures at night in February contributed towards good colour and flavour in especially the red cultivars. Although somewhat smaller, this was one of the best, if not the best, harvests in years.

WINEMAKING:
18 months maturation period, with 20% in new French oak barrels and the rest in third fill barrels.
Bottling took place on 10 August 2017.

TASTING NOTES:
This benchmark Nebbiolo promotes spice and flavours of star anise, and offers herbaceous intensity of lilac, thyme, lavender and basil flower and the spicy sweetness of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Flavours are complex, lingering and enticing, put together with sweet strawberry, pomegranate, and a cherry acidity zing. Tannins abound and form the tactile aspect to a thought-provoking experience.

FOOD PAIRING SUGGESTIONS:
Fragrantly superb on its own, this wine also pairs well with meat such as slow roasted pork or beef. Cured meats like prosciutto are ideal. Those classic aromatic notes in the Nebbiolo complements soft cheeses like brie or a full fat feta.
